The 2026 refresh reorganizes the whole top end: the KOJ series now gives you the same blade in three willow grades at three prices, the player ranges built around KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya each gained new rungs, and for the first time we can hand a parent a genuine English willow size 5 for under $200. Everything in this guide arrived in the same late-August shipment and everything listed with a price was in stock at our Edison store when we published. Stock on the top-end bats is genuinely thin, usually one or two pieces per model, because SG allocates Grade 1 blades in small numbers. Where a model has already sold out we say so rather than quietly linking it anyway.

The drop breaks into four tiers. At the top sit three Grade 1 flagships at $1,254.99: the KLR-1 Classic, the HP-33 Classic and the Triple Crown Original LE. King of Jungle is the most useful new idea in the range, because it isolates the one variable that actually separates most premium bats: willow selection. KOJ 1, 2 and 3 are the same series at three grades, and the price steps tell you exactly what SG thinks each grade is worth: $399.99 for Grade 3, $549.99 for Grade 2, $949.99 for Grade 1.

KOJ 1 — Grade 1, $949.99

Grade 1 is the highest selection SG puts into a production blade: straight, even grain and clean color across the face. What that evenness buys is consistency, a middle that responds the same way across a wide band of the blade instead of a narrow sweet spot with dead zones around it. The willow is close to top selection in how it plays; what you give up is mostly cosmetic, a little more color variation and the odd speck. When we compared our KOJ 2 pieces against the KOJ 1s side by side on the rack, the $400 gap is visible in the grain, but nobody standing at the other end of a net would pick which was which. Both pieces in stock are short handle, medium pick-up.

KOJ 3 — Grade 3, $399.99

Grade 3 carries more color and marking, and that is essentially what you are paying less for. Structurally it is the same English willow, and once knocked in it performs as a genuine match bat. The KOJ 3 is also the only bat in the series we received in two pick-ups: one light (2lbs 7oz to 2lbs 8oz) and one medium. The $1,254.99 Question: What the Flagship Classics Buy You

Three bats share the top price in this drop, and they are three different answers to the same brief. The KLR-1 Classic tops the KL Rahul range, a line shaped for balance and playing the ball late rather than pure power. The HP-33 Classic tops the Hardik Pandya range and is set up for hitting through the line. The Triple Crown Original LE is the limited edition of SG's longest-running premium range, the one SG reserves its best production willow for. All three are Grade 1, all three arrived as single pieces in short handle medium, and in our experience bats at this tier do not sit on the rack long, so if one of them is the bat, call ahead before driving over.

The quiet achievement of this drop is at the bottom of the adult ladder. The RP 150 and HP 150 at $209.99 are genuine English willow short-handle bats from the Pant and Pandya ranges. They are the entry point for the club batter who has been playing Kashmir willow and wants to feel what a leather ball does off a real English blade without spending players-grade money. The RP 150 came in light pick-up; the HP 150 came in both light and medium, one of each.

The STR8Bat 250s: Swing Data Included

The KLR 250 and RP 250 at $249.99 each ship with a STR8Bat sensor fitted. The sensor mounts to the bat and tracks bat speed, swing path and impact position, then feeds every session to the STR8Bat phone app. For $40 over the 150s, you turn net practice into something you can measure: if you keep nicking off, the app will show you whether your swing path is closing early rather than leaving you to guess. Most junior bats at US retail are Kashmir willow. This drop changes that: SG sent us a full English willow youth lineup, and it starts at $199.99. That matters once a young player faces a hard leather ball regularly, because English willow rewards timing in a way that teaches good habits.

In Harrow, the size between a junior 6 and a full short handle, the Sunny Tonny Harrow from the range named for Sunil Gavaskar is in stock at $324.99 in very light (2lbs 4oz to 2lbs 6oz). The Triple Crown Classic Harrow at $399.99 sold through before we finished this guide; we expect more, but as of publication it is out of stock.

One detail from checking this shipment in that shows why we weigh bats rather than trusting labels: our HP 150 Junior size 5s genuinely differ, so we list them in two separate weight bands, 1lb 11oz to 1lb 13oz and 1lb 14oz to 2lbs.
