The KLR-1 Classic is the flagship of SG's KL Rahul range and a Grade 1 English willow bat. It sits above the standard KLR-1 players bat, using SG's highest production willow selection. SG has been making cricket equipment since 1931 out of Meerut, India.

Q1: How is this different from the SG KLR 1 Original Players bat? They are separate bats in the same range. The Classic is the higher tier and carries a Grade 1 stamp.
Q2: What does Grade 1 mean? It is the top selection of English willow in a production bat, with straighter, more even grain and cleaner colour than lower grades.
Q3: Does a Grade 1 bat still need knocking in? Yes, and carefully. Knock it in properly and build up through the nets before match use.
Q4: How do I look after it? Oil the face lightly with raw linseed a couple of times a season, keep an anti-scuff sheet and toe guard on, and store it dry and away from heat.
Q5: Does more grain mean a better bat? Not on its own. Grain count is one signal among several, and a Grade 1 blade is selected on the whole picture.
