Description
SS Core Gladiator Youth Harrow Cricket Bat
~ Grade 1 English willow in Harrow — the bridge to a full-size bat.
Harrow is the size between junior 6 and adult Short Handle, and it is the one most growing players spend a season or two in. The Core Gladiator Harrow gives that in-between batter a genuine Grade 1 English willow blade with the current TON shaping, rather than a stretched junior bat or an adult bat they cannot lift. Sareen Sports has been making bats in Meerut since 1969.
Why Players Choose the Core Gladiator Harrow
Super Grade 1 English willow
The same willow species and grading SS uses on its adult range. That is what separates a real ping off the middle from the dull response of a training blade.
Concave TON edges
The current TON profile takes weight out of the spine while keeping the edges thick, giving a wide sweet spot in a bat light enough for a teenager to swing through a full arc.
Round handle and a proper finish
A round handle gives wrist freedom and suits hands that are not yet adult-sized. Embossed chrome stickers and a premium SS bat cover included.

FAQ Section
Q1: What exactly is a Harrow bat? Harrow sits between junior size 6 and adult Short Handle. The blade and handle are both slightly shorter and narrower than a full-size bat, which lets a growing player use adult-grade willow before they have the height or strength for a Short Handle.
Q2: Is my child ready for Harrow or should they stay on size 6? Go by height rather than age. Harrow generally suits a player around 5'0" to 5'5". The test is whether they can hold the bat at the top of the handle and swing it cleanly through a full arc without the hands dropping. If not, size 6 is still the right call for a season.
Q3: When do they move up to a full-size bat? Most players move to Short Handle around 5'6". Buying a Short Handle early to "grow into" it is the most common mistake we see — it slows the hands and encourages bottom-hand play.
Q4: Does this bat need knocking in? Yes. It is factory pressed but not match-ready. Give it a few hours of mallet work, a light coat of raw linseed oil on the face, edges and toe, then net sessions with an old ball before a game.
Q5: Is this for a hard ball or a tennis ball? Hard leather cricket balls, in nets and matches. English willow of this grade will crack quickly under tape-ball or heavy tennis-ball use — use a Kashmir willow bat for that.
Q6: Does it come with a cover? Yes, a premium SS bat cover is included.
Q7: How should we look after it? Store it in the cover somewhere cool and dry, never a hot car. Re-oil lightly once or twice a season, check the toe and edges for opening seams after heavy use, and fit a toe guard or anti-scuff sheet for abrasive surfaces.
