Pickleball currently runs two certification bodies, and plenty of paddles are legal under one and not the other. If you play USAP-sanctioned events and UPA-A events, that is a real problem and an expensive one. The JOOLA Perseus Pro 3S Dual holds USAP PBCoR.43 and UPA-A certification at the same time. Why That Matters
Most players do not find out a paddle is ineligible until they are at the table before a match. Buying dual-certified removes the question entirely, and it protects the purchase against a rule change in either direction. For a club player entering a mix of local and tour-affiliated events, it is the single most practical spec on the sheet.
The Paddle Itself
This is the Perseus shape: elongated, 16.5" x 7.5", built for reach at the kitchen and leverage on the drive. Textured carbon fiber face over the Propulsion Core, with the 5.5" grip length that two-handed backhand players need. The Feel-Tec Pure Grip is JOOLA's tackier compound and holds up better in humid summer play than a standard cushion grip.
16mm
The 16mm core plays softer with a longer dwell time. Third-shot drops sit down, resets carry off the face when you are stretched, and hands battles at the kitchen are more forgiving than a thin-core paddle. It is the control-leaning build of the 3S Dual line.
