Description
An ITTF-Approved Bat for Twenty Dollars
The bat that comes with a table is not a bat. It is a piece of plywood with a rubber sheet glued on, and it makes the game harder to learn because the ball does nothing you expect. The JOOLA Match Pro costs about the same as one of those and uses ITTF-approved VIZON rubbers on both sides.
ITTF-Approved VIZON Rubbers
ITTF approval means the rubber meets the specification used in sanctioned competition. In practical terms it means the surface actually grips the ball, so a beginner can learn what topspin and backspin feel like rather than pushing everything flat.
Pro Friction Technology
JOOLA's Pro Friction surface treatment increases the grip between rubber and ball. It is the reason a $20 JOOLA bat plays closer to a proper racket than a $20 supermarket bat does.
Balanced for Learning
Centro Balance weighting and the Ergo Grip handle put this in the allround category: enough control to keep rallies going while you learn, enough speed to be worth keeping once you have. The 1.8mm sponge is the sensible middle ground.
