Frequently Asked Questions about Yonex Arcsaber Badminton Rackets
Arcsaber is the "Control" series. While Astrox is head-heavy (Power) and Nanoflare is head-light (Speed), the Arcsaber Series is Even Balanced. It is designed to hold the shuttle on the string bed longer, giving you maximum control to place the shuttle exactly where you want it. It is the ultimate choice for technical players.
You have three distinct tiers for the popular Arcsaber 7, which is known for its incredible shuttle hold:
- Arcsaber 7 Pro: Made in Japan. Features the "Pocketing Booster" in the frame for maximum control and feels slightly stiffer. Used by pros who need pinpoint accuracy.
- Arcsaber 7 Tour: Made in Taiwan. It offers nearly identical performance specs to the Pro (same frame shape and balance) but uses slightly different graphite materials, making it the best "value for money" performance racket.
- Arcsaber 7 Play: Made in China. A flexible, pre-strung version designed for beginners and intermediates. It gives you the "Pro look" but is much easier to swing.
If you are new to the game, you want a racket that is easy to handle. The Arcsaber 2 Ability is a fantastic entry-level choice. It is even-balanced (so it doesn't feel too heavy) and has a flexible shaft to help you generate power. If you want a slightly more advanced frame that you can grow into, the Arcsaber 11 Play is one of the best-selling intermediate rackets in the world.
Arcsaber 11: The "Crisp" hitter. It feels solid and offers a sharp repulsion. It is great for all-round players who want a mix of smash power and drive speed. (Check out the Arcsaber 11 Play for the accessible version).
Arcsaber 7: The "Hold" master. It is designed to flex and "pocket" the shuttle, giving you a split-second longer to control the direction. If you prefer drop shots and net play over raw smashing, choose the Arcsaber 7 Pro.
Arcsaber frames are designed to "hold" the shuttle. This increased contact time (dwell time) creates more friction on the strings compared to a quick-repulsion racket like Nanoflare. To counter this, we recommend using a durable string like Yonex BG65 or Exbolt 65 if you find you are snapping strings frequently during slice shots.
