These acronyms define the bat's profile (shape):

• TC (Traditional Cricket): The "Joe Root" shape. It features a mid-sweet spot and a balanced pickup. Perfect for all-around batters who play both front and back foot shots.
• DC (Dynamic Crease): The "Steve Smith" shape. It has a lower sweet spot and a lower swell position. This is ideal for playing on slow/low pitches (common in the US) or for front-foot players who want maximum power when driving down the ground.
• Burn: Designed for speed. These bats have a higher spine and less concaving to keep the weight down (often 2.7 lbs - 2.8 lbs), allowing for faster hand speed.

NB bats are famous for their "Soft Press." This means the wood fibers are not compressed as extremely as some other brands.

• The Benefit: They often have an incredible "ping" and responsiveness right out of the wrapper.
• The Trade-off: Because the wood is softer, they must be knocked in thoroughly to prevent seam marks and surface cracking with either a traditional mallet or knocking machine. Do not skip the knocking-in process with an NB bat.
